How wallets are secured

Understand the security model behind Taopilot wallets and the habits that help protect your self-custodial assets.
Security starts with self-custody
Taopilot is built so sensitive wallet material remains under your control instead of being held by Taopilot. This reduces custodial counterparty risk, but it also means device security and backup hygiene are critical.
Device-level protection matters
Use the security controls available on your device, including a strong passcode, biometric unlock where appropriate, operating system updates, and remote device lock or wipe features. Avoid installing apps from untrusted sources.
Protect your seed phrase and private keys
- Never share your seed phrase, private keys, screenshots, or exported wallet files with anyone.
- Do not enter your recovery phrase into websites, chat apps, forms, or support messages.
- Store backups offline and separate from your everyday device.
- Treat anyone asking for your seed phrase as malicious, even if they claim to be support.
Review every transaction
Before signing, confirm the destination, amount, network fees, staking target, lockup, and any other transaction details. Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed.
Support will never ask for wallet secrets
Taopilot support may ask for public information such as your app version, device model, transaction hash, or public wallet address when troubleshooting. Support will never ask for your seed phrase or private keys.
